Come and join us – a warm welcome awaits

Join us at our 3 day Conference to celebrate 25 years since our inception and learn how to further your research. There were more than three million Britons in India between the 17th and 20th centuries.  Many family historians have discovered that they have ancestors who spent some, or all, of their lives in the “Jewel in the Crown”.

Today, FIBIS is the leading family history organisation focusing on assisting individuals from all around the world to research their ancestors and the society in which they lived.  FIBIS was established as a charity in the latter half of 1998 and its primary aim is educational.

The FIBIS database covers the geographical area of pre-1947 India (including what is now Pakistan) neighbouring countries such as Burma (Myanmar), St. Helena, Straits Settlements (Singapore, Malacca and Penang – formerly Prince of Wales Island), and other parts of Asia of interest to British India, such as Persia (Iran), the Gulf and China.

Three days of celebrated speakers – from Universities in Oxford, Paris and Toronto, as well as internationally renowned authors, professional genealogists, military and family historians. You will have an opportunity for 1:1 sessions with the Experts about your own research and time to meet like-minded researchers.
