This is a general talk concentrating on the products that were brought back to Britain and how the Company, England and empire grew, but not to everyone’s benefit.

Jef Page is a very experienced gallery guide and free-lance lecturer on a wide variety of subjects, primarily: art and artists, national & London topics, talks on authors and USA history, & local Iford/Essex history and the East India Company.

He lived and worked in the USA for nearly 2 years, worked in the National Gallery for nearly 25 years & before that for the British Library inside the British Museum.

Jef is President of Ilford Historical Society, provides a monthly article for the Ilford Recorder, and Chairman of Ilford Chess Club. (He plays for Essex and coach children & adults).
