Gunpowder – How India came to dominate the production of saltpetre

On Saturday 23rd September FIBIS member, Ed Storey, will talk to members via Zoom about how India came to dominate the production of saltpetre.   Ed will go thru the two-step process and explain how to find the records of people who were in the business.  He will also explain a little about transportation and, significantly, the dangers of the operation and some serious fires.  Ed will wrap up with where to find information online.
