I wonder whether anyone out there can help with the deciphering of a grave at Jubbulpore. I’ve attached the picture.

The general wording is fairly starightforward but the names of the child and her parents are in a special font that has me stuck!

    The basic information:
    Born 18 March 1873 Died 31 July 1874
Aged 16 months and 13 days

    Now the child’s Christian names:

    KIEASOI? BEATRICE

After looking at this for a minute @Beatrice’ jumped out at me but not her first name!

    Now her parents:

    Henry & Tianna ELCOT??

Brother Geoff believes it’s ELCOTT, Nigel thinks it’s ALCOTT. Good thoughts but I think that the first ‘T’ is an ‘L’ (notice that the lower curl is larger to the right while a ‘T’ elsewhere has larger curls at the top). The picture isn’t clear over the second ‘T’.

If you have seen this font before and can read it, please help!

    Thank you,

    Peter

    Sorry Beverly,

The system appeared to take one attachment (the whole grave) but not any more. But this time it’s taking all three!

Eleanor Beatrice Cole born 18 Mar 1873 to Henry and Hannah Cole. Died 31 Jul 1874. Burial reference in ecclesiastical returns is N-1-150-151. 🙂

Life is lived forwards, but understood backwards.

Thanks Valmay. I can see the wording now! It just pops out when you know!

    All the best,

The only bit I could read, that you couldn ‘t, was Hannah, but luckily enough that was enough to find the rest of the details using Findmypast and Familysearch to decipher in the rest. Good idea posting on here for help. 🙂
