I’m writing a book about my great-grandmother’s life and I’m currently struggling to find any accounts of what the married quarters and women’s lives were like in the British Army in Delhi in about 1880/1881. My G-Grandfather was there with the No 3 Battery 9th Brigade Royal Artillery. He and my g-grandmother left England on 11 Dec 1879 aboard the Malabar and returned on 12 May 1881. Any relevant books or online sources would be greatly appreciated.
