Bombay Times arrival and departure notices for 1841 have now been uploaded to the FIBIS database website. The data consists of 3,225 arrivals and 1,448 departures giving a total of 4,673 new entries.

This is really wonderful, but I wish you had more information (and particuarly arrival and departure notices) for the late 19th C. So many of your valuable sources relate to the pre-Mutiny period, and my grandfather did not even arrive in India until 1890.

Yes indeed, I have looked at everything on the FIBIS website. But I repeat that information from the late 19th and early 20th C is a bit thin on the ground. Departure notices are particularly necessary as the journey to London was so often via Brindisi, and train arrivals in London are obviously not reported.
