Over 500 graves and memorials from Southern India uploaded

Photographs of over 500 graves and memorials have been uploaded to the FIBIS database website. These photographs were taken by members and friends of FIBIS who went on a family history tour of Southern India in 2015. We are still in the process of transcribing all the photos they very kindly donated for our website, so more photos will follow.

  1. Many thanks to everyone concerned in this post. I looked up Pondicherry cemetery and found a memorial to (retired) Captain George Gibson d 28 April 1847, Deputy Commissioner of Ordnance. He married Mary Thomas, a native in 1801 at St Mary’s church Fort St George. He is my husband’s 4 x great grandfather.
