Spring Open meeting timetable
10.00 – 13.00 Surgery. The ‘experts ‘ will try to answer your ‘brick-wall ‘ questions on Family History Research in British India.
14.00 – 15.00 “ Buccaneers of Empire – stories of an Indo-Chinese Trading Family in the 19th Century”, by Miles Macnairâ€
15.00 – 15.30 Break for Refreshments
15.30 – 16.30 “ For Allah created the English mad – the maddest of all mankindâ€ (Rudyard Kipling 1898): British psychiatrists and their patients, treatments and hospitals in colonial India, by Mike Young
In between talks there will be refreshments and time for members to discuss matters of common interest. There will also be a bookstall selling FIBIS Guides and Fact Files, and other books on the history of British India.
