FIBIS Spring Open Meeting and Lectures 2016

The FIBIS Spring Open Meeting will be on Saturday 14th May 2016 and open to all interested in the study of British India whether or not they are members of FIBIS. The Centre will be open from 10.00 a.m. and the programme will be as follows:


10.00 -12.00 – “ Surgery”. Come with your questions or “ brick walls” in researching your Ancestors.
12.00  – Break for Lunch. There is a café on the premises for light lunches.
13.00  – Assemble for the Meeting.
13.30 – Researching Christening, Marriage and Burial (CMB) IOR Records on Findmypast by Myko Clelland. Account Manager, Findmypast
14.30 – Break for Tea & “ Networking”.
15.30 – How about the many CMB Records “Missing” from Findmypast and the IOR?  FIBIS Chairman, Peter Bailey, explains the numerous other sources for these.

How to get there:

“ Resource for London” is a light airy building designed especially for Charities like us. It is in London ‘s Holloway Road some 25 yards south of the junction with Tollington Road and next to Waitrose. It is close to Holloway Road Underground Station (Two stops north of King ‘s Cross).

Buses direct from: Euston, King ‘s Cross & St Pancras (17, 91)   London Bridge (17)   Waterloo  (4) Liverpool Street (153).

All are welcome to attend FREE OF CHARGE for lectures provided they register their attendance by SATURDAY, 7TH MAY 2016.

    Sorry about that Hugh. I copied the article over from the event page, which is presented in a different format and I forgot to add the date! I have now amended the article,

  2. Sadly can not make it as it is rather a long way, will the actual content of the meeting be available I am thinking of a podcast if that is the correct terminology?

      We try and video the talks and make them available for members on the website, but I can’t say when they will be online as I still haven’t got around to editing and uploading the last lectures. I am still playing catch up!
