Job Description
Summary of role
- Generate and update website content (products, content, promotions)
- Work with website team to build traffic and sales via the website
- Plan, define and implement website changes and functional improvements
- Monitor key performance indicators on the website and develop plans to improve them
Key Experience
- Understanding of order management/customer fulfilment in an e-commerce context
- Experience using packages like Excel and Photoshop
- Computer literate and understanding of basic web technologies (browsers, basic HTML, data files)
- Familiar with data management
- Previous experience of website or e-commerce CMS
- Basic understanding of Google products would be desirable
- Experience of Wordpress and WooCommerce would be a plus
Detailed responsibilities would include:
General
- Update product information and content on the website
- Create banners, images, promotions etc for display on the website (using products like Photoshop)
- Update content managed areas (copy and artwork)
- Manage website configuration and parameters (eg. payment options, stock management)
- Investigate and report any operational/technical issues arising
Publications
- Despatch customer orders via Royal Mail
- Mark the order complete when despatched
- Email digital publications to the customer
Subscriptions
- Mark parent subscription orders complete once:
- Payment is received
- Welcome Pack despatched
- FIBIS database account set up
- Mark renewal subscriptions complete after
- Payment is received
- FIBIS database access renewed
Status
FIBIS also needs another trustee, so if Shop Manager applicants are interested in also taking on trustee responsibilities they will need to attend Trustees ‘ meetings every two months, held at the British Library. There are also two public meetings: An Open meeting is held in the October/November and the AGM held in June/July each year on a Saturday, there is also an “ Away Dayâ€, held mid-week usually in August/September.
