European Inhabitants in Bengal 1816

IOR:O/5/28-1816 List of Europeans not being in the service of His Majesty or the Honorable Company resident in the several districts of the Lower Provinces and Western Provinces for the year 1816 with exception of the town of Calcutta (LDS Film: 2104565) has been transcribed and uploaded to the FIBIS database  as members only material.

This list has been transcribed by Sylvia Murphy and Ainslie Sharpe

It is a combination of two separate lists, one presented for “ the Lower Provinces” and one for “ the Western Provinces” for the year 1816. Residents of the suburbs but not the city of Calcutta are included in this dataset. The first few pages of the Lower Provinces list were torn on the left side, names were verified by reference to a hand written name index.
