Sylvia Murphy on ‘The ‘Non-official ‘ community in India ‘

01 Aug | News,

A recording of  Sylvia Murphy‘s excellent talk given at the FIBIS Conference on ‘The ‘Non-official ‘ community in India ‘  is now available for viewing by FIBIS members in the  FIBIS Social Network.

For several years  Sylvia Murphy was  FIBIS ‘s liaison officer in Australia and has been at the heart of India-related family history research in that country.   She commands a wide ranging knowledge of all the relevant sources, but her particular interest is in the ‘non-official ‘ community (the people who were not in the Indian Civil Service or the Army) among whom her own ancestors were numbered.
