The keynote speaker will be Dr Robyn Andrews on “Those who stayed”.   Her research on the Anglo-Indians in Calcutta will provide insights as to what our lives might have been like today had our ancestors chosen to stay on in India.

Ian Clarke, author of “ The bungalow at No. 2 Riverside Road” set in pre-Independence Bengal, will speak in the afternoon on the topic of “ Writing about the British in India”.

At the Q&A session, our pool of research expertise will help with ‘brickwalls’.   There will also be a bookstall, plenty of time for conversation about how your family history research is progressing, and the opportunity to discuss Robyn’s current research on “ The invisible Indian : the Anglo-Indian diaspora in NZ” .

Lunch will be shared (please contribute a plate of fingerfood if you are able)

Cost: $5.00
