There comes a time when we want to pause our research and collate and preserve all that information in a way that is intelligible and interesting to others. This session provides an opportunity to learn how to begin to generate order from the chaos of notes, documents and computer files and present your family’s history in a way that others will enjoy. The emphasis will be on setting your family in their national, local and social historical context.

Dr Janet Few is a qualified family, social and community historian. She is the author of numerous articles and several books, including two based-on-fact historical novels. As well as being actively involved in several family and local history societies, Janet is currently serving as the President of the Family History Federation. Her work as one of the A Few Forgotten Women Team sees Janet telling the stories of Women’s Lives https://afewforgottenwomen.wixsite.com/affw. She also has a fledgling website telling her own family history https://janetfew.wixsite.com/grannystales. Janet runs a course ‘Writing and Telling your Family History’ for Pharos Tutoring and teaching and also presents on this subject for the Society of Genealogists.
