New Zealand Christian Brethren missionaries

In his name : a record of assembly missionary outreach from New Zealand

11 Mar | News,

A small, but information-rich, set of records for New Zealand Christian Brethren missionaries who served in British India has been uploaded into the FIBIS database. Transcribed from Marsh, Leslie A. In his name : a record of assembly missionary outreach from New Zealand. 1st ed. Palmerston North, N.Z.: G.P.H. Society, 1974 and the 2nd edition published in 1987, the records provide career information for about 90 people and their families. Other missionaries from the United Kingdom and Australia who worked alongside them are mentioned in the entries.

“The data comes from missionaries themselves and the bound volumes of the [New Zealand] Treasury magazine which contained letters from missionaries. The books were the culmination of much research, consultation and a world tour” on which the Marshes visited many of the missionary stations. The entries have been transcribed from the out-of-print books by kind permission of the author, who “is more than happy for the information to be used to bless others who may be wanting to glean information about those who have dedicated their lives for the betterment of the people of India.”
