FIBIS AGM and Lecture Meeting Saturday 1st November 2014

The FIBIS AGM  and Lecture Meeting will take place at 1.30 p.m. on Saturday, 1st November 2014 at our new London location at Room B404-LT2, “ The Cruciform Building”, University College, University of London, Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT. This is 5 minutes walk from Euston Station and two minutes walk from Euston Square Underground Station. It is also 10-15 minutes walk along the Euston Road from the British Library. See bottom of the page for a map showing the location and a photo of the entrance.

Programme

10.00 –  12.30 A traditional “ Surgery” at which Fibis “ experts” will attempt to answer your research questions
13.00 –  13.30 Arrival for the Annual General Meeting
13.30 –  14.00 Annual General Meeting
14.00 –  15.00 Lecture 1. “Poppy Fields and eBay –  Using WWI memorabilia in this centenary year as the starting point for Family History” by FIBIS  Trustee, Geraldine Charles
15. 00 –  15.30 Break for Tea, Coffee and Biscuits
15.30 –  16.30 Lecture 2. “The East India Company: some snapshots of its history”  by David Blake, O.B.E., FIBIS  Trustee
16.30 –  17.00 Dispersal and Returning Home

The lecture room is roomy and set out in a tiered format to permit an excellent view of the lecturer and the screen. There is also room for circulation and “ networking” during the breaks at the rear. Arrangements are being made for the provision of tea, coffee and biscuits at modest price during the break.
