Finding your way around the FIBIS websites
The FIBIS website has expanded!
FIBIS now has five sections:
-
The main FIBIS site (www.fibis.org), which remains the central hub
-
FIBIS Members' Area (for FIBIS Members only requires password)
-
FIBIS Search (online searchable database)
-
Fibiwiki - which contains information useful to people researching ancestors in India. It not only contains guides to help you research, but also lists sources, and general background information about the culture, society and history of India during the period from 1600 to 1947
-
FIBIS Shop - which contains books, guides, data CD's, back issues of the FIBIS Journal etc
The major areas can be accessed by the blue navigation buttons at the top of the pages. You will always be able to tell which section you are in by the colour of the navigation buttons at the top of the page. If you look at them now you will see that fibis home is red. That is because you are now in the main fibis website. Once you leave it it will turn blue.
Selecting fibis home will return you to the Homepage of www.fibis.org so you can always find your way back!
Selecting
in the Members' Area will return you to the MA Homepage.
Navigating within the sites is done by the links in the on the left hand side. In certain areas like the FIBIS Shop and fibiwiki, a new set of navigation choices will appear.
